I Was Missing Out On These Amazing Black Own Business

You know I love to recommend and support Mexican brands as you can see HERE Indeed! For the simple fact of being Mexican and because:

1.- I know the hard work my people put into their craftsmanship.

2.-The passion they put into everyday’s work.

3.-Because of the fact that 99% of the time, that job is their number 1 source of income for their family.

Yes, that’s why I 100%, would rather buy from a Mexican brand than from some other well-known transnational street wear fashion brand. Not to mention the way in which they operate their production and the lack of basic human rights but that’s another story. The main point of this blog post is that…

I’m Genuinely Accepting

I’m genuinely accepting that I was so focused on Mexican Designers that I blinded myself to discovering more creative minds from different parts of the world and from different ethnicity other than my own. I wasn’t opening my eyes and my perspective in order to support more businesses, more creative people that are fighting for the same reasons I am as an entrepreneur, as a Mexican living in another country and as a woman. Which are:

1.-Empowering woman globally.

2.-Pieces made by the hands of artisans. Artisans that have been passing their traditions for year and years.

3.- Embracing their roots.

4.- Giving women education opportunities.

That at the end of the day we are united for the same love of art and and driven for the same passion. But more importantly for the fact of being human beings.

Of course it could have been easier to post and share squares on my instagram stories so just a few people can see it and “that’s about it!” forget about that, but I needed to document it HERE, in the space I own. A place I can come back and say “Hey, I remember how I felt during that time and the promise I made to myself” and keep doing it. At the same time hoping that new visitors can discover these brands, and hopefully understand my point of view.

A.AU

A.AU I discovered this brand a few weeks back while Pining 🙊 Btw. I LOVE PINTEREST! The beautiful garments that she creates are stunning. The colors, the fabrics simply reflect so much happiness and so much femininity but what got me the most was this, and I quote…

Empower woman to embrace their history, culture, identity, stay connected to their roots, and to continue to push the narrative of their legacy.

As my little sister likes to say “Only God Knows What We’re Fighting For”…..This is so powerful and meaningful, we need people and brands working towards a cause, toward a common good. Plus, of course, each and every single one of her pieces is absolutely stunning. Check her website HERE

I’ll get back to you with more. I have a couple more but I want to save it for latter so you can take the time to see these two beautiful brands. I hope that you (if you haven’t yet of course) just like me, can start rethinking the way we consume fashion and the passion we share for it.
